My Water Bill

February 18th, 2010 by admin

I have always been under the assumption that any water collected during a rainfall would be minimal and not worth the time and effort. I was surprised to learn that rainwater tanks are used in parts of the world quite extensively. It turns out that 623 gallons of water can be collected by as little as an inch of rain. This is on a 1,000 square foot roof. This is about half of what I use in a month for my entire household. I use almost 1300 gallons of water every month and could cut my bill in half by adding these tanks. It’s time to talk to my husband about getting some.
