Hiring for a Jewelry Store

I own a jewelry store, and unfortunately in the past I have had a problem with employees who have stolen from me. Now whenever I interview someone and I think about hiring them, I will run a Public Records Search. I think that it is very good to know the background of anyone that might be handling not only large sums of money but also very expensive jewelry. I am very suspicious by nature anyway, but in the past I have made some bad errors when hiring people. If I check them out and they pass then there is less of a chance of a problem.
