The most effective way to use music for stress relief
February 19th, 2010 by admin
Most people enjoy just chilling out to music but that’s not the best way to use music for stress relief. Listening to music is very relaxing and it can definitely reduce stress. The problem is that the effects are only temporary. Stress always comes sneaking back before you know it.
But breathing slowly and deeply in a regulated way while listening to music produces a completely different effect and it’s a lasting effect. This type of breathing relaxes deep into the body. And, surprisingly, it also increase levels of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps to keep us relaxed long-term because it actually neutralizes harmful stress hormones.
