Difficulties in Syncing Movies to an iPod

One of the reasons I purchased an iPod is that it will allow me to watch movies no matter where I am. I am a movie enthusiasts and it keeps me amused and feel relaxed regardless of how tired I am. But why cant i sync movies to my ipod? I think I followed the instructions provided by the sales assistant properly, but to no avail. I was too excited to watch movies on it, and it disappointed me a lot when I learned that I still cannot use the gadget this time. Maybe I should ask someone to sync movies on it for me. My brother knows how to do it for he has an iPod, too. But he’s in California now and will stay there for two weeks.
